How many cars are there in Poland? Per thousand inhabitants – the highest in Europe
Poland is the country with the largest number of passenger cars per thousand inhabitants in Europe.
Data from the latest report of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) show that at the end of 2022, there were a total of 297.2 million passenger cars on the roads of the 29 surveyed countries.
Germany had the highest number of vehicles (almost 48.8 million), followed by Italy (40.2 million), France (38.9 million) and the UK (37.1 million).
Poland took fifth place in terms of the number of cars (26.5 million cars), but is ahead in terms of vehicle density, because according to ACEA there are as many as 703 cars per thousand inhabitants.
– There are households in Poland that already have 3-4 cars – says Paweł Molasy, Business Country Manager at AutoCentrum AAA AUTO. – There will be more and more cars in Poland. The research we have conducted shows that interest in buying used cars is growing. This happens especially in spring, when the market revives.
ACEA data covers 2022, there are already more cars in Poland, and according to the AAA AUTO Barometer report based on the analysis of data on the sale of used cars in second-hand car commissions, on websites and at used car dealers, in February 2024, 240,040 were offered in Poland second-hand cars. This means an increase of over 45%. compared to the same period in 2023.
