Entrance to museums for PLN 1. Promotion available this weekend

Museums will be available for a symbolic zloty. The program includes workshops, free guides and hidden nooks.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the history of your city or take a trip to a nearby town. On Sunday, November 19, museum tickets will be available almost for free. For only one zloty we can enter the exhibition, and in many places we will also take advantage of additional attractions.

Krakow opens museums for PLN 1

November 19 is the Open Day of Krakow Museums, which coincides with this year’s 45th anniversary of inscribing the Old Town in Krakow on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Officials decided to make this day more enjoyable for residents and tourists by inviting everyone to an almost free tour.

The gates of many institutions in the city will be opened. 25 museums take part in the event, which together with their branches make up a list of 55 places. The program includes presentations of permanent and temporary exhibitions, providing access to unique places that are not usually open to visitors. In addition, special attractions will be available, such as workshops, multimedia presentations, shows and guided tours. The list includes, among others: branches of the Krakow Museum (the Hipolit House, the Nowa Huta Museum and the Krzysztofory Palace), as well as the Home Army Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Gallery of 19th-century Polish Art in the Sukiennice. In each of these facilities, the entry fee is only PLN 1.

“This is another opportunity, after the Night of Museums, during which, in an unusual way, museums and galleries invite you to view their rich collections and participate in interesting accompanying events,” invites Katarzyna Olesiak, director of the Department of Culture and National Heritage of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.

Free November allows you to visit 11 facilities in the country

Polish residents who are closer to the capital can take advantage of November attractions in Warsaw, where you can visit the Royal Łazienki Park, the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów and the Royal Castle free of charge. A special offer, thanks to which as many as 11 sites in the country can be visited completely free of charge, is also valid in Krakow. Until the end of this month, we will enter the Wawel Royal Castle for free.
