The Polish national team is still without a coach. This does not mean, however, that the Polish Football Association, headed by Cezary Kulesza, is not looking for a suitable candidate. Secretary General of the Polish Football Association, Łukasz Wachowski, announced that the media and fans will learn the name of Fernando Santos’ successor by September 20, when the association’s meetings will take place.

In turn, the president of the Polish Football Association does not want to be a prisoner of the given date and gives himself time. In an interview with TVP Sport, he said that these are such talks that it is simply impossible to specify a specific day or hour. – There are contracts to be checked and lawyers to work. I have no influence on how long all records will be checked by the other party, he said.
Everything indicates that the final candidates were selected by Cezary Kulesza. He wrote about it on his Twitter: “Talks with candidates for coach have ended. It’s time to choose.” This means that there are at least two people fighting for the seat.

Various names appeared in the media, e.g. Jan Urban or Maciej Skorża, but the most frequently mentioned ones in the context of the national team were Marek Papszun or Michał Probierz.
According to Przegląd Sportowy Onet, one of these two coaches will become the new coach of the Polish national team. Moreover, according to the journalists’ knowledge, both coaches were given “homework” by the president of the Polish Football Association.
“The Polish Football Association is looking for a coach who would ultimately work with the team until the 2026 World Cup. It is not just about putting out the fire of the current Euro 2024 qualifiers,” writes Przegląd Sportowy.
