Bosak for Wprost.pl: "Proposing Polexit is simple. "It's about terminating EU policies and staying in the EU."

– Proposing Polexit is simple. Proposing to terminate EU policies and remain in the European Union is something that opens up a completely unknown direction of politics to us, said Krzysztof Bosak, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, in an interview for Wprost.pl.

Confederation politician and Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak was a guest of this year's European Local Government Congress. In an interview he gave to Wprost.pl during this event, he commented, among other things: EU climate policy and referred to the recent farmers' strikes.

Economy “Soviet style”

There has been a recent wave of protests by farmers in Poland, who disagree with, among other things, with restrictions related to the EU Green Deal. The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm recalled that Polish foresters and the timber industry also protested against the EU ecological policy.

– We need environmental protection, but the EU Green Deal is a large-scale social and economic engineering project, going far beyond environmental issues and trying to transform the economic functioning model in the sometimes Soviet fashion. If we count an investment in trade or finance, it is one percent. is of great importance. However, the European Union decided that several percent land is to be excluded from agricultural production without any compensation. This is a form of nationalization, said Krzysztof Bosak.

The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm believes that the EU's environmental protection policy is radical and also unfair because the standards introduced are different for different member states.

– Why don't we have one standard, e.g. per capita greenhouse gas emissions? Why should different countries maintain different emission levels? This is unfair, he said.

Polexit?

When asked directly whether he believed Poland should leave the European Union, Krzysztof Bosak referred to public opinion polls, according to which the majority of Poles were in favor of remaining in the community, but did not support the EU's climate policy.

– Proposing Polexit is simple. Proposing to terminate EU policies and remain in the European Union is something that opens up a completely unknown direction of politics to us. This is very interesting, because in the EU there is no procedure for what to do with such a recalcitrant country that neither wants to leave nor implement EU policy. Of course, we can be punished financially, but if the financial penalties exceed the amounts we receive from the EU, we have a political stalemate, said Krzysztof Bosak.
