Art installation on the facade of the world’s tallest building in honor of Mahatma Ghandi
An artistic installation was displayed on the facade of Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world – on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Ghandi. The presentation included photos, paintings and quotes related to it. The whole thing was complemented by music.
Unusual visualizations appeared on the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa in Dubai. On the occasion of Mahatma Ghandi’s 150th birthday, photos, graphics and quotes related to the most famous propagator of pacifism are displayed on the building. The light presentation is complemented by Indian music. One of the quotes displayed on the building is the slogan “Poverty is the worst form of violence”.
Mahatma Ghandi – or rather Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, is one of the most important figures in the history of India and the history of the world. The creator of modern Indian statehood. Through his views, he showed that pacifism could be a way of conducting politics and exerting political pressure. He preached the need to respect all living beings on earth. He believed that every person deserved respect regardless of place of birth, religion or worldview. Due to his respect for animals, he was also a vegetarian from childhood. On January 30, 1948, he was shot by Hindu fundamentalist Hathuram Godse.
Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world, measuring 829 meters and having 163 usable floors. Its construction was completed in 2009 after five years of work. The official opening took place on January 4, 2010. The Skidmore, Owings and Merrill studio, specializing in sketches of skyscrapers, was responsible for its design. The building’s appearance refers to the desert flower and Islamic architecture. The building includes, among other things, a hotel designed by Giorgio Armani. The cost of constructing the structure was estimated at $1.5 billion.
