An unidentified group seized a small oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden last Sunday. The next day, the Americans announced the recapture of the unit.
The Central Park tanker is a ship managed by Zodiac Maritime, registered in London to Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer. Vessels from this country are attacked by the Yemeni Houthi movement, which cooperates with Iran and can “brag” about the hijacking of the Galaxy Leader merchant ship in the Red Sea.
Attack on an Israeli ship in the Gulf of Aden
This time the attack took place in the Gulf of Aden. The 22-person crew of Central Park was terrorized by a group of people who were called “pirates” in press releases. As reported by Zodiac, “the ship, commanded by a Turkish national, has a multinational crew consisting of citizens of Russia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, India, Georgia and the Philippines.”
It was also reported that the ship was fully loaded and was transporting phosphoric acid. On Monday, November 27, in the morning, the American command announced that it had been recaptured by the crew of the guided-missile destroyer USS “Mason”. The Arleigh Burke-class vessel detained five pirates who were trying to escape by boat from the Central Park.
During the entire operation, a surface-to-water missile was fired from Yemen under Houthi control, intended to hit an American ship. Ultimately, however, it exploded 18 kilometers from the target.
Yemen on the Palestinian side
In a televised statement, General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, confirmed that the Yemeni army attacked the positions of the “Zionist Israeli regime.” – We fired a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and a large number of drones at various targets of the Zionist enemy, he said. “The position of the Yemeni people towards the Palestinian cause is unwavering and principled, and the Palestinian people have the full right to defend themselves and enjoy their full rights,” he stressed.
Saree said this was the third Houthi attack on Israel since the beginning of the conflict and amounted to a declaration of war on Israel. He added that Yemeni forces will support their “oppressed brothers in Palestine.” However, in a statement by Houthi troops, which was broadcast on Al Masirah TV, which is supervised by the militant group, it was announced that “the Yemeni Armed Forces will carry out attacks using missiles and drones until Israeli aggression ceases.”
