A sincere answer from a PiS MP to a question about the new government. "I don't believe in miracles"

It is still not known who the president will entrust with the mission of forming the government. PiS MP Kacper Płażyński believes that Andrzej Duda is a conservative, so he will act “according to custom” and appoint Mateusz Morawiecki. However, according to PO spokesman Jan Grabiec, such a decision would ridicule the president.

Donald Tusk appealed to President Andrzej Duda to make “energetic and quick decisions” regarding the appointment of a new government. – The winning democratic parties are in constant contact and are ready to take over responsibility for government in the country at any time, Tusk assured. – Mr. President, people are waiting for the first decisions that will be a consequence of these elections – he added. However, it is still unclear who the president will entrust with the mission of forming the government first.

PO spokesman Jan Grabiec emphasized on Polsat News that the government should be formed as soon as possible. – It is important not to delay the appointment of a new government. There are no obstacles to announcing the first session of the Sejm, he said. What if Duda appointed Morawiecki? – Pointing to someone who has no chance of forming a government makes a bit of a mockery of both the office of the president and the group that will attempt to form a government and will soon suffer another defeat, Grabiec said.

– PiS has been working for a long time to alienate other leaders. I cannot imagine that anyone, including Konfederacja, would be ready to form a government with PiS, said the PO spokesman. However, he did not reveal whether the opposition leaders had already decided on specific names. – We respect our partners. Close cooperation with Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Szymon Hołownia and Włodzimierz Czarzasty is a condition for this project to be successful, he assured.

The PiS MP predicts what Andrzej Duda will do

The next guest in the studio was PiS MP Kacper Płażyński, who emphasized that the government will be formed when the parliamentary majority convenes. – Since the Constitution has been in force, the president has always entrusted the possibility of forming a government to the party that won the largest number of votes, he recalled. He added that he “assumes” that the president will entrust the mission of forming a government to a PiS politician, although he also admitted that he “does not believe in miracles.” – Mateusz Morawiecki is a prime minister who has proven himself in difficult times – he replied when asked whether Duda would appoint Morawiecki.

– In one of the interviews, the chairman of the Polish People’s Party, Kosiniak Kamysz, suggested that the rule of Law and Justice was better for Poland’s development than the PO-PSL government. He winked at us with this, said the PiS MP. – However, I treat this as raising my negotiation stakes rather than a desire to build a coalition with Law and Justice. In 2015, no one expected that PiS would form a coalition with the League of Polish Families and Self-Defense, but it happened – he reminded.

Płażyński, however, noted that there are “certain political customs” and Andrzej Duda is a conservative. – I will not be surprised that he will act in this matter in accordance with this custom – added the PiS MP.
