Five beehives have become home to 35,000. bees. The first urban apiary was established in Białystok.
Five hives, including four historic ones after renovation, have become home to about 35,000 bees. In the spring, they will produce about 70 kilograms of honey. “The bees are fine here. Lots of flowers – said the keeper of the city apiary, Mikołaj Mak.
The first city apiary in Białystok was built near the square at ul. Augustowska. Around the hives there are flower meadows and sunflower fields created this year. In addition, fruit trees and flower bushes, as well as melliferous plants will be planted in the vicinity of the square.
The mayor of the city Tadeusz Truskolaski took part in the inauguration of the apiary.
