Wilfredo Leon's clear declaration. The fans will be happy
Recent days have shown that Wilfredo Leon's transfer to the Polish PlusLiga is certain. Now the player himself has confirmed it!
We are undoubtedly dealing with one of the biggest transfer hits in the history of Polish volleyball. Wilfredo Leon, who plays in our national team, will play in the PlusLiga for the first time in his career. The transfer saga involving him was very long, and several clubs were in line to sign the world's leading volleyball player. Ultimately, his choice fell on Poland and there are many indications that it will be Bogdanka LUK Lublin.
Wilfredo Leon confirms media reports
– For now, I can only say one thing: I will definitely play in Poland next season. This is certain – said Wilfredo Leon in an interview with Interia.
The volleyball player did not want to reveal the exact place of the game, but of course, for many volleyball fans in Poland, the most important thing is that he is joining our league. Let us recall that, apart from Bogdanka LUK Lublin, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie were strongly seeking Leon's involvement. The 30-year-old remains a Sir Susa Vim Perugia player until the end of the season.
Leon wants to end the game in Italy with a bang
Currently, the team from Perugia is fighting for the national championship. In the semi-finals of the competition, it will face Power Volley Milano. The chance to reach the final and then win the league is very real. The 2023/24 season is going great for the Blocking Devils.
They already have three trophies to their credit. These are the Supercoppa Italiana, the Coppa Italia and the Club World Cup). Winning the Italian championship would make this season simply excellent for Sir Susa Vim Perugia. For Leon, however, it would be a great farewell to the club with which he has been associated for quite a long time, six years. However, the player apparently decided that it was high time to try his hand at PlusLiga, which is growing stronger every year. The next games in Poland promise to be great, and they will be honored not only by Leon, but also by, among others, Bartosz Kurek, who is to become a player of Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
