Finance Minister Andrzej Domański reveals what happened to the flagship promises of the Civic Coalition that were not included in the state budget. This includes: to increase the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000. PLN, or changes in health insurance premiums for entrepreneurs.
Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański gave an interview to Business Insider Polska. During the conversation, it was pointed out that the recently adopted state budget lacked the flagship promises of the Civic Coalition from the election campaign, such as increasing the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000. PLN or changes in health insurance premiums for people running a business.
Domański on increasing the tax-free amount
– The budget included many of our promises: an increase in the budget for teachers, in vitro fertilization, a helpline for children. We are also working on the free amount. This issue is currently the subject of analysis by the deputy minister of finance responsible for taxes, Jarosław Neneman – the head of the Ministry of Finance responds.
When asked whether the issue of increasing the tax-free amount will be resolved during the current parliamentary term, Domański emphasizes that there will be talks on this matter, because, as he says, “we want the election promises to be fulfilled.” – But today I won’t give any more details – says the Minister of Finance.
Referring to the issue of the health insurance contribution, Domański points out that the current contribution is a separate levy from the tax. – However, I perfectly understand that Polish entrepreneurs do not want to pay health insurance contributions, e.g. on the sale of fixed assets. We will solve this problem relatively quickly. However, when it comes to the flat-rate health insurance contribution, work on this system will take us some time – says the head of the Ministry of Finance.
However, Domański assures that from January 1, 2025, business owners will pay health insurance contributions differently than currently. – The change will be beneficial for every business operator who currently pays a contribution, e.g. on the sale of fixed assets – announces the head of the Ministry of Finance.
