The Polish national volleyball team is flourishing under the leadership of Stefano Lavarini. The bronze medal of the League of Nations breathed additional strength into our players before the European Championships. Middle in the block – Kamila Witkowska indicated the most important change in the team.
Before this year’s national team season, the coach of the Polish women’s team, Stefano Lavarini, had quite a problem. Due to an injury, Zuzanna Górecka, who has been the team’s strength so far, and the middle player Kamila Witkowska are out. When the former revealed in an interview with “Wprost” that she would return to the game in February, the middle one returns to full strength. – We are always safe and individualize training a bit, especially in the gym – she confessed in an interview with tauronliga.pl.
The volleyball player pointed out the most important change in Stefano Lavarini’s representation
Despite staffing problems, the volleyball team made a historic feat and won a medal at a world event for the first time in 55 years. In this case, it was the 2023 Nations League bronze.
Kamila Witkowska was asked by representatives of tauronliga.pl about what has changed in the representation, which – according to Katarzyna Wenerska – has shown that it is not “to beat”, but begins to count on the international arena. – I think somewhere someone flipped a button and the machine started, which happened last year. This looks really good already. Of course, no one intends to rest on their laurels after the success in the League of Nations, but we train all the time, we give our best – she said.
– And what has changed? A lot, especially the staff, and that just gave us confidence and changed our thinking. This is the most important change – added the center.
Kamila Witkowska: The coach keeps saying that we have a new chapter
According to Kamila Witkowska, changes were visible already during the World Championships and our players could afford a good result. Unfortunately, Biało-Czerwone lost to Serbia, the later world champion after a tie-break.
“It’s somewhere in the back of my head.” The coach keeps saying that we have a new chapter. The World Cup is behind us and we have to look at what lies ahead. There was the League of Nations, now there are the European Championships and such small steps forward. I hope that we will be in good health, we will keep in good shape and we will fight for EURO as much as we can afford – she concluded.
