Polish basketball players are preparing to fight in the prequalification tournament for the Olympic Games in Paris. Igor Milicic is missing Jeremy Sochan, who wants to prepare for the next NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs. According to media reports, the white and red only child will fly to Poland. It will be part of a large event co-organized by the best league in the world.
Basketball fans do not have many opportunities to watch the white and red team this season. The calendar is not overcrowded with matches, and in addition the Poles did not qualify for the World Cup. As a result, the pre-qualification tournament for the Olympic Games held in Gliwice will be the most important event.
Jeremy Sochan will come to Poland
Poland will first face Portugal, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the group stage. If they take one of the top two places, they will advance to the semi-finals. Only the winner will qualify for next year’s qualifiers.
However, one of the biggest stars of Polish basketball is missing from the squad appointed by Igor Milcic. Jeremy Sochan, as in the previous year, will devote the summer to individual training before the NBA season. His decision caused considerable controversy. The selector himself did not hide his regret for the absence in an interview with “Wprost”.
However, this does not mean that the 20-year-old will be absent from Poland. According to the portal polskikosz.pl, Sochan will fly to Wrocław and will be a guest of a four-day event organized on August 24-28 by the NBA and the Polish Basketball Association. It will include the NBA Coaching Clinic, i.e. a free clinic (seminar) for coaches in the WKK hall in Wrocław. The event will be attended by trainers from the best league in the world. One of the “head coaches” can be expected among the guests, but the portal did not give specific names.

In addition to Jeremy Sochan, other NBA players are to be present during the four-day event in the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In addition, training with young people and a discussion on a potential match of the best world league in Poland are to take place.
