The draft bill on the liquidation of the Central Anticorruption Bureau is ready, Tomasz Siemoniak announced on Friday. Mariusz Kamiński commented on the matter.
The plans to liquidate the Central Anticorruption Bureau were commented on by the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration and coordinator of special services, Mariusz Kamiński, to whom the office was until recently. In a post on social media, he addressed his officers.
“Today, your political supervisor, Tomasz Siemoniak, announced the statutory liquidation of the Central Anticorruption Bureau. I am sure that President Andrzej Duda will not allow this to happen. Survive this dark time in the state structures,” we read. “The day of retribution will come…” Kamiński announced.
Is the liquidation of the CBA fast approaching?
The act on the liquidation of the CBA is to be closer. Tomasz Siemoniak, coordinator of special services, announced the advanced stage of work on it on Friday morning.
– Today we are starting the entire procedure, because it is the last working day of March, so with holiday wishes, a healthy and peaceful Easter, I convey the news that we have finished our work and this project is ready – said the minister.
However, Siemoniak emphasized that the project must go through a “reliable path”, i.e. “inter-ministerial arrangements, etc.” He indicated the expected date. – I expect that this project will be adopted before the holidays – we heard.
The new office will be subordinate to the Chief Commander of the Police
Work on the liquidation of the CBA seems to be progressing very quickly. Although assurances that such a decision would be made appeared long before Donald Tusk's government took power, the first media reports about the commencement of the work of the Interministerial Team for the Development of the Concept and Preparation of the Liquidation Process of the Central Anticorruption Bureau saw the light of day only 10 days before the statement. Siemoniaka.
The team was headed by General Radosław Kujawa, secretary of the College for Special Services. According to the findings of “Rzeczpospolita” journalists, the Central Bureau for Combating Corruption will take the place of the CBA.
The status of the new body will be the same as the Central Police Investigation Bureau and the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime. And just like them, it will report to the Chief Commander of the Police, to whose position Marek Boroń was officially appointed.
