The decision on who will head one of the most important Polish companies will most likely be announced on Monday, March 18, or in the next week at the latest – money.pl found out. He has this knowledge, as he put it, “from sources close to the Ministry of State Assets.”

Orlen: 260 candidates for the management board

Since February 5, Orlen has been without a president: Daniel Obajtek was dismissed, and on February 6, Witold Literacki became the acting president. On February 14, the supervisory board announced a competition for the positions of: president, vice-president for finance and vice-president for strategy and sustainable development, as well as six members of the management board – for upstream, energy and energy transformation, retail sales, corporate affairs, wholesale trade and logistics and production.

260 candidates submitted documents. After the deadline for submission, they were examined by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the company's supervisory board.

On February 5, Daniel Obajtek was dismissed from the Orlen management board

On February 5, the supervisory board dismissed the current president of the management board, Daniel Obajtek. Earlier in interviews, he said several times that he would leave if PiS lost in the parliamentary elections. – I'll go away myself, you won't even have to thank me. I have my honor and my dignity – he said in spring 2023 on RMF FM. He did not fulfill his promise and did not leave on his own initiative.

Obajtek, however, does not let himself be forgotten. At the end of February, it was revealed that the CBA had been eavesdropping and recording his telephone conversations as part of an action under the name “Vampiryna”, associated with literature.
