Jarosław Kaczyński on meetings with Glapiński. “Like with a friend”
PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński seemed surprised by the suggestion that he should not receive president Adam Glapiński at the party headquarters. He replied that the president of the NBP had no restrictions in this respect.
On Wednesday, the TVN24 reporter met the president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, in the Sejm. He decided to ask him if it was a normal situation when the president of the National Bank of Poland visits a politician at the party headquarters.
– Mr. Editor, the president of the central bank has no legal restrictions when it comes to his personal contacts. Especially when it comes to people he has known for over 35 years, replied Jarosław Kaczyński.
Visits of the President of the National Bank of Poland to the party headquarters. What does Jarosław Kaczyński say about this?
Radomir Wit asked whether doubts should be raised by the provision of the constitution, which states that the president of the NBP “may not belong to a political party, trade union or conduct public activities that are incompatible with the dignity of his office.”
– And what was it like when Professor Rzepliński (former president of the Constitutional Tribunal) visited the headquarters of the Civic Platform? – replied Kaczyński.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk was asked about further steps in the matter of prosecuting Prof. Adam Glapiński before the State Tribunal. – The application for the State Tribunal for Adam Glapiński is prepared and ready and will be submitted in the coming days – announced Donald Tusk at a press conference.
In 2018, 2019 and 2022, the media reported several times about Adam Glapiński's visits to the NBP headquarters.
“Jarosław Kaczyński's parliamentary office does not inform about any of these meetings, because they are either party or private in nature” – reported in the “Poland i Świat” material. “Therefore, even today it is not known why the president of the NBP came to Nowogrodzka Street,” it was reported.
“Glapiński, head of the National Bank of Poland, at the PiS party meeting. Anyone else dare to blame me for my conversation with Marek Belka from 5 years ago?!” – asked the outraged KO MP Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, currently the Minister of Culture.
