Increases for the budget sector with compensation from January 1
Work is underway to modify the regulations regarding the remuneration of employees employed in government administration offices and other units. The draft budget act for 2024 provides for measures to increase the wages of employees who are not members of the civil service corps and work in these institutions.
According to the project, average annual wages in the public sector are planned to increase by 20% from January 1, 2024. In order to introduce these increases and ensure an increase in remuneration in the public sector, it is necessary to amend the regulation of the Council of Ministers of February 2, 2010 on the principles of remuneration of employees employed in public institutions.
Higher rates
Increasing salaries in the public sector by 20%, and in the case of teachers by 30%, was one of the basic demands of the Civic Coalition in the autumn parliamentary elections. The draft amendment to the regulation assumes a modification of Table D regarding monthly basic rates of remuneration for employees of offices and administration units.
The proposed change envisages an increase in the minimum basic remuneration rates by 20%. in all grade categories compared to the rates applicable from January 1, 2023.
Increases for the public sector
The maximum rates of basic remuneration will increase by PLN 1,500 in each grade category compared to the rates applicable from January 1, 2023. As a result, the new remuneration rates will range from PLN 1,140 to PLN 6,200 in grade 1, and from PLN 2,830 to PLN 11,420 in XXI pay grade.
According to the draft, the new regulation will enter into force the day after its publication in the Journal of Laws. The amended Table D will apply to determine the monthly basic rates of remuneration for employees of offices and administrative units, effective from January 1, 2024.
