Hołownia donated a barrier in front of the Sejm to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We know how much it was auctioned for

The auction of the barrier, which was put up for auction by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity by the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, has ended. The buyer of the barrier also has the opportunity to have dinner with Hołownia.

The 32nd final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity took place on January 28. Among the items that were put up for auction at that time was one of the barriers in front of the Sejm building.

Hołownia: A symbol of times long gone

The decision to transfer it was made by the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia. He presented the reasons for his decision on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that the barrier was painted in white and red colors and was provided with a certificate of authenticity.

“For the last six years, the Sejm area has been tightly surrounded by barriers. The first thing that happened shortly after the October 15, 2023 elections was their spontaneous dismantling. Thus, the Sejm opened itself to and for citizens. So I decided to put up for auction – as a symbol of times long gone – one of these barriers,” we read in Hołownia’s entry.

The barrier was auctioned for over PLN 40,000. zloty

On Friday, February 9, the auction of the barrier in front of the Sejm ended. Although only 58 users took part, the amount obtained from sales is impressive.

The Chancellery of the Sejm announced that the barrier was auctioned for PLN 41,100. zloty. It is worth adding that the buyer will also have the opportunity to meet Hołownia in person. “The barrier comes with lunch in the office,” announced the Speaker of the Sejm.

The latest reports show that at least PLN 175.4 million was collected during the 32nd finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The full amount will be announced on March 27. Let us remind you that the goal of this year’s collection was “lungs after the pandemic”. This involves the purchase of modern equipment for the diagnosis, monitoring and rehabilitation of lung diseases in pulmonology departments for children and adults.
