Famous members and a new face. Tusk announced KO candidates in Mazovia
During the meeting in Legionowo, Donald Tusk presented some of the candidates of the Civic Coalition who will fight for seats in Mazovia. The PO leader emphasized that “the most important election campaign in decades has just begun.”
President Andrzej Duda officially announced the election date. The election campaign is officially just starting, but politicians of all parties have been meeting with their supporters in many places in the country for several months now. On Tuesday, Donald Tusk and members of the Civic Coalition attended a rally in Legionowo.
Tusk: On October 15, we will chase Kaczyński
During the meeting, Tusk referred to the election date set by the president. The PO leader emphasized that “the most important election campaign in decades has begun.” He also shared a “simple rhyme” with the crowd. – Just as simple as our common message. On October 15, we will chase Kaczyński, announced the former prime minister.
– These choices are really about whether we will be free, whether we will be independent, whether we will have a sense of security in our private and personal lives, or whether we will be in their hands, whether they will control, monitor every minute, every hour of your life – he argued Tusk.
The former prime minister quoted the words of John Paul II
The former prime minister also quoted the famous words of Pope John Paul II. – Do not be afraid. I apologize for quoting a great Pole, a great Pope, but these words fit this situation exceptionally. This is perhaps the most important thing that we from Legionowo should send to all of Poland on the day of the announcement of the election date: do not be afraid, he declared.
“Their strength was our discouragement over the years. Their strength was the lack of faith that they could be removed from power. Their strength was such a lowering of hands. Some thought we had no chance, they took it all (…). It is enough that at some point people say enough is enough that at some point people feel that they are not alone. Just like during the march in Warsaw – said Tusk.
KO team in Mazovia. Tusk presented the candidates
During the meeting in Legionowo, the PO chairman presented some of the candidates of the Civic Coalition, who will be running for parliamentary mandates from constituencies in Mazovia.
Tusk announced that the leader of the KO list in district no. 20, covering the area of the Grodzisk, Legionowski, Nowodworski, Otwocki, Piaseczyński, Pruszkowski, Warszawa Zachodnia and Wołomin counties, will be PO spokesman Jan Grabiec. MP Kinga Gajewska will also start from the same list. – Brave like no other. Kaczyński, be really afraid of such women, said the PO leader.
In turn, Aleksandra Gajewska will fight for re-election from Warsaw. “They’re not sisters, but they’re like sisters.” If you have both Gajewskis on the lists – Ola in Warsaw, Kinga here, in the district near Warsaw, I am calm about the result – he said.
A new face on the list
Tusk also announced that Andrzej Domański, the chief economist of the Civic Institute, i.e. the PO think-thank, will also start from the Warsaw list. – Some people can talk nonsense in Polish politics, and this is a man who guards iron logic. I am calm about the Polish economy, because I have people like him around me – presented Domański, the leader of the PO.
Announcing Maciej Lask’s re-start, the PO leader noted that he was the one who “has endured the humiliations and insults of Macierewicz and all those who used the Smolensk catastrophe against Poland, against the truth, for many years.” “The real support and hope of KO” Tusk called Marcin Kierwiński, secretary general of KO, who will be the leader of the list in district no. 16, including Płock. One of the lists in eastern Mazovia will be opened by Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz.
