Aleksander Śliwka suffered an injury during the match between Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and the Belgian Knack Roeselare. After examination, it turned out that he would have to undergo surgery because he had a broken finger. Now he has provided new information about his health condition.

“The ZAKSA captain will have a break from playing and training. Aleksander Śliwka suffered an injury while trying to block his opponent. (…) Unfortunately, the injury turned out to be so severe that a change was necessary in the next set. After returning to Poland, detailed tests confirmed the fears,” we read in the club’s official statement just after the unfortunate situation.
On Monday, December 18, Aleksander Śliwka underwent finger surgery, after which it became clear that his return to the pitch would be longer than he expected. The Polish representative posted a photo from the hospital on social media, which both saddened and reassured his fans.
“Hello everyone! The surgery was successful, although I have a longer break than expected. I can’t wait to get back on the field! Meanwhile, keep your fingers crossed for the team,” wrote the Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle player.
