Agnieszka Radwańska and Jerzy Janowicz are passionate about padel and have already achieved great successes. The former tennis player became the runner-up, and the tennis player became the Polish champion.
Agnieszka Radwańska ended her professional tennis career in 2018. Since then, the most successful Polish athlete in history has been involved in charity, but she did not say “pass” when it comes to sports. Jerzy Janowicz, in turn, has not officially finished his tennis career, but we see him more often on paddle courts than tennis courts. As you can see, it brings him the expected benefits.
Agnieszka Radwańska was the runner-up, and Jerzy Janowicz was the Polish padel champion
Padel is a game divided into sets and games. The competition takes place on an artificial court, and the winner is the player who wins two sets. This discipline had its origins in Mexico, and its creation dates back to 1969. It had to wait until it reached Spain to flourish, where it is now one of the most popular sports. It is also becoming more and more popular in Poland, and the national championships were held in Warsaw on December 2 and 3.
It was attended by, among others: Agnieszka Radwańska and Jerzy Janowicz, who transferred their tennis experience to paddle courts. They managed to reach the finals of the competition. The tennis player played in pair with Maciej Naduk and in the final they defeated Mateusz Lipiński/Gabriel Biliński 6:0, 6:2. The retired tennis player formed a duo with Marta Domachowska and in the decisive match they lost to the duo Aleksandra Rosolska/Zofia Piórkowska. The match ended with the score 6:4, 7:6.
It is worth adding that Janowicz made his presence felt during the European Games in Krakow, where he and Marcin Maszyk were eliminated in the second round of padel. The best there were the Spaniards David Gala and Daniel Santigosa. The women’s competition was won by Italians Carolina Orsi and Giorgia Marchetti.
