EA Sports FC 24 has its global launch today. The Standard Edition debuted on Friday, September 29, although Ultimate Edition owners have been playing for a few days now. How good is the successor to the FIFA series?

Tonight was the official premiere of EA Sports FC 24. The latest football simulator from Electronic Arts replaces the famous FIFA series, although the gameplay remains very familiar to fans of the series.

EA Sports FC 24 premieres

EA decided to launch at midnight. This means that the Standard Edition of the game is available from Friday, September 29, 2023, at 0:00 Polish time. Owners of the more expensive Ultimate Edition can play the game from September 22.

Traditionally, Electronic Arts’ football game is available on a large number of platforms, including current and previous generation consoles. These are PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch.

The title has already been rated in many reviews. The game seems quite good, although not perfect. There are 45 materials on Metacritic rating the PS5 version with 75/100 points. The Xbox version has a score of 78/100 (based on 13 ratings). Reviewers praise the successful “switch” to the EA Sports FC brand, which did not disturb what is best in the FIFA series. Others, however, complain about the repetition and gameplay errors.

FIFA disappears from official EA stores

Just before the premiere of EA Sports FC 24, players noticed a strange change. A large number of FIFA games have disappeared from all known digital distribution platforms. These are titles from FIFA 14 to FIFA 23. New players can no longer buy the game, although game owners can reinstall and play them. FIFA 22 and 23 are still available in the EA Play subscription.

The reason for the change may be the expiration of Electronic Arts’ license for the FIFA brand, which probably blocks the company from further selling products with a title using the name of the most famous football organization.

Moreover, the federation is to work on its own football simulator. The owners of the brand probably do not want the gaming market to be flooded with older titles with “FIFA” in the name.
