The new tallest building in Poland, and soon in the entire EU. The main part of the work on Varso has been completed
Warsaw and Poland officially have a new tallest building. After the spire is installed, Varso will also be a leader in the European Union.
Varso Tower has just reached its maximum assumed height measured from ground level to the roof. The building, now 230 meters high, has become the tallest in Poland. It surpassed the Palace of Culture and Science (188 meters to the roof) and the Złota 44 apartment building (192 meters), as well as the previous leader in this category – Wrocław’s Sky Tower (206 meters).
Varso Tower. Soon the highest in the European Union
However, this is not the end of the building’s upward climb. The installation of a spire on the roof has started, which will allow it to reach 310 meters, which is the first place in the entire European Union.
The tower of the Varso Place complex was designed by the renowned Foster + Parners studio. The studio’s architects are the authors of many famous skyscrapers, such as HSBC Tower in Hong Kong, Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt, 30 St Mary Ax in London or 2 World Trade Center in New York. Thus, it will be the second building in Warsaw that has left the drawing board of a famous architect. In addition to Złota 44 and Varso Tower, Towarowa 22 by BIG Architects is also expected to join this list.
“On the 49th and 53rd floors of Varso Tower, which is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2022, there will be two public viewing terraces, and right below them there is a restaurant and a bar with a view of the city. Two walls of the lobby will be covered with a hand-made mosaic of 1,800 ceramic tiles, referring to the history and color of Warsaw. – we read in the announcement by HB Reavis – the owner of the Varso Place complex.
