The Łukasiewicz Research Network consists of 22 institutes and research in several dozen fields

The Łukasiewicz Research Network brings together 22 research institutes from all over Poland. What do they do?

The Łukasiewicz Research Network is an organization associating 22 research institutes that carry out research and development works for the benefit of business.

– We develop new technologies, we develop solutions that improve existing technologies in order to increase the level of competitiveness, the level of efficiency, the level of efficiency of enterprises – explains Andrzej Dybczyński, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.

“The Łukasiewicz Research Network combines various competences”

Institutes of the Łukasiewicz Research Network can be found all over Poland.

– 22 institutes conduct research in several dozen fields. I’m talking about the number 22 to make these dozens more credible. It really is several dozen different fields – emphasizes Andrzej Dybczyński. – By simplifying this model of our activity, we define four basic areas of our activity. This is health in a very broad sense: biotechnology, pharmacy, medical devices. The second such group is pure mobility. The third – everything that is related to energy. The fourth of these groups is materials engineering – he added.

The president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network pointed out what is its strength.

– What allows Łukasiewicz to create truly innovative solutions is, among others, the fact that the network brings together different competencies. Our scientists are able to use the competences of their colleagues from other disciplines to find solutions that are not obvious or easily available within one discipline – said Andrzej Dybczyński. – We often hear that it is the third largest chain in Europe. I answer it this way. I don’t want Łukasiewicz to be the greatest. I want Łukasiewicz to be the best. That’s what we care about,” he said.
