It has been said for a long time that ZAKS Kędzierzyn-Koźle will undergo some kind of coup, and the stars who constituted the strength of this team. For now, the rumors have been confirmed in the case of Aleksander Śliwka and Łukasz Kaczmarek, who were officially said goodbye to the club.
However, the club started with very good news, announcing that Marcin Janusz would remain in the club for another year. In the last interview for “Wprost”, the quarterback calmed down the fans a bit and confessed that next season the people of Kędzierzyn will have the right to think about fighting for the highest goals. – I know the outline of the squad for next season and if everything goes well, ZAKSA will be a team that will have the right to think about fighting for the highest goals. Aleksander Śliwka and Łukasz Kaczmarek are leaving ZAKSA
Unfortunately, for the fans of this club, the time has come for the worse news. The club announced on Monday, May 13, that Aleksander Śliwka and Łukasz Kaczmarek, who were the strength of this team for five seasons, were saying goodbye to the team.
“Olek, Łukasz – thank you for all these years, many sports emotions and unforgettable moments spent in the colors of Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. We wish you good luck and further sports successes. See you soon!” – we read in the announcement.
Successes of Polish representatives in ZAKS Kędzierzyn-Koźle
Aleksander Śliwka joined ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in 2018. Previously, he played for clubs such as Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, AZS Politechnika Warszawska, and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. However, it was in the colors of Kędzierzyn that the host won the Volleyball Champions League three times, won the Polish champion titles twice (2019 and 2022) and was runner-up (2021 and 2023). Additionally, he won the Polish Cup four times (2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023) and the Super Cup three times (2019, 2020 and 2023). From the 2021/2022 season, he was the captain of this team.
In turn, Łukasz Kaczmarek, before joining Kędzierzyn, played for clubs such as Cuprum Lubin and I-league Victoria Wałbrzych. Like his friend, he won three Champions Leagues, four Polish Cups, three Super Cups, two championships and two Polish runner-up titles with this club.
It has been said for some time that Aleksander Śliwka will continue his career in Japan, and Łukasz Kaczmarek will move to Jastrzębski Węgiel.
