The spokesman for the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, where Romualda Wąsik works, did not want to comment on the disciplinary proceedings in her case. He argued that Wąsik did not hold a public office.

Romualda Wąsik is a biochemist by education. Since April 2019, he has been working at the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. Initially, she was an expert in the Department of Supervision of Substitutes. In August 2020, it was transformed into the Department of Chemicals Supervision and headed by the wife of a Law and Justice politician.

On Tuesday, during a press conference, Maciej Wąsik said that disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against his wife. – I think an overzealous official said that she was inciting anti-state demonstrations – he said. He added that “this is the language of martial law.”

Gazeta.pl asked GIS for clarification on this matter. The answer was perfunctory. “Ms. Romualda Wąsik is not a public person, she does not hold public functions or positions, therefore all issues regarding her employment relationship with the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate are carried out exclusively in the employer-employee relationship, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions” – replied Szymon Cienki, the institution's spokesman.

In response to TVN24, it was added that “therefore, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate will not respond to any statements made in the media in this regard.”

On Wednesday, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration posted excerpts from the proceedings files, including: “it should be recognized that the Defendant should have no doubts that public demonstrations of intimacy with an MP, a politician (it's about me! – ed.) (…) may violate the prohibition of manifesting political views and impartiality.”

Roma Wąsik and Barbara Kamińska actively participated in protests against putting their husbands in custody.
