Jastrzębski Węgiel dreams of this trophy. The grand finale for supremacy in Europe

The day all of volleyball Europe has been waiting for. It includes the finalists of the Champions League, the volleyball players of Jastrzębski Węgiel and Joanna Wołosz, who plays for A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano.

Two of the three cups from the European CEV stable for the 2023/24 season are already in the showcases of Polish teams. The Challenge Cup was won by the Projekt Warszawa volleyball players, and the CEV Cup went to Asseco Resovia Rzeszów. There is one more trophy up for grabs, the most prestigious one, namely the Champions League.

Benjamin Toniutti and Marcelo Mendez on the Champions League final

Jastrzębski Węgiel is certainly at the right moment to reach for the valuable trophy. If the Jastrzębie team won, it would be their first historic success in the Champions League.

– What needs to be done? Play good volleyball, play well as a team, fight together, help each other on the pitch, because there will definitely be difficult moments because Trentino is a top team. It is important to enjoy this moment because it is a special moment. Superfinals like this are not played very often and that is why we have to do our best and give our all during this Superfinal – admitted the quarterback of the Polish champions and finalists of the previous edition of the Champions League.

The coach of the Polish champions has a similar opinion. Let us remind you that JW won the final competition in PlusLiga against Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie 2:1 in the play-off for gold.

– We have a huge opportunity ahead of us. We will face a great team. Trento is a really great team, with strong players, including top representatives of Italy and other national teams. We have to play well, just like we did in the PlusLiga play-offs. You need to maintain your service and attack skills. And we'll see where it takes us – added Marcelo Mendez, the Argentine coach of Jastrzębski Węgiel.
