Hotel made of ice and snow. Inspired by “Game of Thrones”, the facility was created in Lapland
Fans of “Game of Thrones” who dreamed of visiting the land of the Seven Kingdoms have the opportunity to fulfill their dream, provided they are not afraid of frost. An ice hotel was created in Finland, inspired by the famous TV series saga based on the novels by RR Martin.
The unusual facility was created thanks to the cooperation of HBO Nordic and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage. The goal was to build a hotel out of snow and ice inspired by Game of Thrones. The unusual facility was built in the town of Kittilä, located in the Lapland region. There are 24 rooms, including 10 where you can stay overnight.
Each room was designed and made by ice carving specialists. Guests can count on unique decor inspired by characters and events from the “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga. In the hotel you can find, among others: a likeness of Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, or a replica of the famous Iron Throne. There is also no shortage of sinister White Walkers with characteristic blue-lit eyes.
A visit to the ice hotel is quite a challenge – the temperature inside reaches -5 degrees Celsius. People who decide to stay overnight can count on heaters in the form of special sleeping bags. Due to the frosty conditions in the rooms, the owners recommend staying there for a maximum of one night.
