A robot instead of a clerk? Local governments will use artificial intelligence
Robotization and artificial intelligence in business have already initiated a new stage of the technological revolution, which will also affect the public and local government sectors. Its implementation in offices can bring great benefits, including: in the form of shortening the service time for residents.
Local governments are very interested in solutions in the field of robotization and artificial intelligence, but the barrier still remains, among others: lack of awareness and knowledge of how to start the process of their implementation. – The second barrier is the fear of whether robots will replace employees who will be laid off – emphasizes Tomasz Tybor, director of intelligent automation at Betacom.
Robotization and artificial intelligence in offices
– In every office, we deal with repetitive, manual processes where employees operate according to a specific algorithm, such as entering information into systems or preparing specific reports – all these are operations that we can automate. Current technology today allows us to understand and process documents that are received by a person. Artificial intelligence can open such a document, understand it, summarize it and extract specific information from it, which can later be further processed. Therefore, in many processes in which this information is entered into systems and further processed, a human can now be replaced – says Tomasz Tybor.
Robotization of business processes (RPA) and artificial intelligence (SI) are concepts used in every business today. According to last year's IDC study, 72 percent organizations in the EMEA region are using or planning to use artificial intelligence in the next two years (“IDC EMEA Emerging Tech Survey”).
The digital revolution is coming soon
By 2025, nearly half (45%) of large organizations in this region will use AI to increase process automation, double the productivity of office workers and free up time they could devote to higher-value activities.
By 2027, global spending on AI solutions will grow to over $500 billion, ushering in a technology transformation that will profoundly transform business models, operations and the way organizations use data.
This transformation will also affect the public and local government sectors, where the implementation of new technologies increasingly contributes to more effective performance of routine administrative tasks, which allows employees to focus on more valuable activities. Automation and robotization can also significantly shorten the waiting time for service and increase the number of served and satisfied customers.
