Sex of Polish women “from the kitchen”. What does women’s erotic life look like in 2023?

Sex of Polish women "from the kitchen". What does women's erotic life look like in 2023?

Women on the Vistula River often think about sex, but rarely have it. This is just one of the conclusions of the latest report “The Sexual Map of Polish Women”. How do our daughters, mothers and grandmothers love them? Check.

The study, which was a reference point for the development of the “Sexual Map of Poland” report, involved 1,076 women aged 18 to 69 (residents of large metropolises, smaller towns and villages). Volunteers completed surveys. The questions included in the questionnaires concerned issues such as sexual activity, knowledge about sex, favorite erotic gadgets and masturbation.

Polish women and sex. Physical love from the perspective of women

A significant number of respondents – as many as 95 percent – are sexually active, but the frequency of sex decreases with age. Women under 35 make love most often (even several times a week), while those in the 46-55 age group make love least often. Meeting a new partner increases your appetite for physical intimacy. The desire for sex is also intensified by a romantic, nice evening spent with your “other half”. This answer was given by over half of the women participating in the study. What else turns out to be an effective incentive for sex? Positive relationships with a partner, feeling of one’s own attractiveness and being desired, a good atmosphere in the bedroom, the thought of pleasing a loved one, watching a romantic or pornographic film, as well as a new erotic gadget, for example sexy underwear. The least effective “stimulus” is the desire to release internal tension and a social meeting (party). These answers were given by less than 10% of respondents.

The biggest obstacle to having sex is fatigue and poor physical well-being. Intercourse is also hindered by problems in the relationship, issues related to menstruation, problems with intimate health, pain during intercourse, other diseases or disorders, and misunderstanding on the part of the partner. The least frequently mentioned barrier is having small children and menopause. These answers were provided by 7 and 5% of women participating in the survey, respectively. Interestingly, for eight percent of respondents, nothing is an obstacle to having sex.

More than half of respondents masturbate to pleasure themselves. For over 30% of women, it is a way to relax or relieve tension. At the same time, 21 percent of respondents admit that they achieve orgasm easier during masturbation than during intercourse with a partner. For most people, physical intimacy is an element of building a close relationship with another person. In order not to cause distress to a loved one and to give them a sense of satisfaction, women fake orgasm. This is declared by as many as 51% of respondents. One of the most frequently reported erotic fantasies is sex with a friend or stranger, as well as love in a threesome. Respondents are reluctant to use erotic gadgets.

Knowledge about sex and relationship with one’s own body

People participating in the study rate their knowledge about sex and intimate health highly. They get it mainly from the mass media. This applies especially to younger respondents. Older ones prefer books, guides and women’s magazines. As many as 39% of respondents do not seek any knowledge regarding the above-mentioned issues. The respondents are critical of their appearance. Only 18% of women feel good in their bodies (mainly respondents in the 56-69 age group). Women living in big cities rate themselves the worst.
