Jacek Kurski at the World Bank earned approximately PLN 80,000. PLN net per month. He returned from Washington to Poland over a million zlotys richer.

In December 2023, the new Minister of Finance, Andrzej Domański, decided that Adam Glapiński was removed from the list of World Bank governors. Glapiński's representative in Washington was Jacek Kurski. Thus, the career of the former president of TVP in an international institution ended. Wirtualna Polska asked the press office of the Ministry of Finance how much Kurski earned as a representative of the Swiss-Polish constituent assembly on the Council of Executive Directors of the World Bank. Kurski began performing his duties at the end of 2022.

“The annual salary for the deputy executive director was $236,150,” the office said. In addition to his salary, he received a pension contribution from the World Bank. 42.5 thousand per year dollars, i.e. 178.5 thousand PLN (so in total he received approximately PLN 200,000 in retirement). The money Kurski received was tax-free.

WP also asked the Ministry of Finance about what Kurski actually did in Washington. “The responsibilities of the Executive Director and his Deputy include attending meetings of the Board of Directors and other bodies and institutions of the World Bank – several times a week. Participation in meetings involves active discussion and approval of individual loan projects for member countries as well as policies and other activities of the Bank,” the Ministry of Finance said.
