Beehives in the city
The minister mentioned that there are good changes that are working for the good of bees.
– It is also a beautiful, noble act to protect bees and other pollinating insects, the so-called hoteliers. We are taking away the natural habitats of these wonderful insects. Thatched roofs have disappeared, houses are insulated with polystyrene, and there is sheet metal on the roofs. There is no straw or clay, but hotels can replace the lost, natural living conditions in old homes – the minister said yesterday, showing the apiary that was established on the premises of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Ardanowski also mentioned that the hives will be placed on the roof of the headquarters of the National Center for Agricultural Support, which is currently implementing the “National Support Program for Beekeeping in Poland for 2020-2022”.
