He says, among others on the financial situation of the Social Insurance Fund (FUS). – The situation on the labor market is good. The revenues from contributions are very good, the benefits are carried out as planned. We have 83-85 percent today Covering the fund’s expenses with contributions, although it is worth noting that about 1.2 million people paying contributions are foreigners – without them the degree of coverage would be below 80 percent. We estimate that, like last year, the subsidy will not be used in full – it may be a few billion less than a few billion – says the head of ZUS.
Derdziuk about the bankruptcy of ZUS
When asked if ZUS does not go bankrupt Derdziuk replies: – ZUS will not go bankrupt because it is part of public finances. The problem arises when we introduce additional benefits not from the budget surplus, but from the debt. We are indebted to future generations twofold: on an ongoing basis, co -financing benefits from the budget, which is from taxes, and the budget has no surplus, and without accurate balancing calculations, increasing entries on the accounts of future benefits.
At the beginning of next month, the widow’s pension will start. The President of ZUS admits that the number of applications was higher than originally estimated. – We already have over 887 thousand people who submitted applications to us, although we initially estimated that there would be about 850 thousand. In addition, there are about 120,000 people in other organs, including KRUS, Prison Service Pension Office – says Derdziuk.
The head of ZUS indicates that “less than a few percent will be negative decisions.” This year, the cost of the Wdowiej pension will amount to approx. PLN 4 billion.
Widow a pension. Where does the low interest among men come from?
Women submitted a clear majority of applications regarding the widow’s pension (89 percent). Derdziuk sees two reasons for this state of affairs. – This is due to two reasons – women live longer and have lower income. About 300,000 applications concerned people who did not have a second benefit calculated, so we had to determine the amount of survivors’ pension or initial capital until retirement – explains the president of ZUS.
