ZUS is in a frenzy over the proposed increase. Negotiations suspended, trade unionists do not give up

Wage negotiations at ZUS have been suspended. The unions rejected the authorities’ proposal and demand much higher wages.

The parties involved in the dispute over remuneration at the Social Insurance Institution have suspended talks on the division of funds for raises in 2026. The joint declaration has already been signed and the next date for negotiations is set for April 9. The main point of dispute remains the amount of salary increases for the institution’s employees.

The ZUS management board proposed increasing salaries by PLN 200 per full-time position. As indicated, after adding additional components resulting from the Company’s Collective Labor Agreement, it amounts to PLN 284. In addition, the plant’s authorities proposed a one-time reward of PLN 2,000. zloty. During Friday’s talks, which lasted until the afternoon, the employer maintained its position.

Salary negotiations at ZUS are stuck on the amount of increases

12 trade union organizations did not agree to the financial conditions presented by the management. The social side found the proposal insufficient and demanded a much higher salary increase. Trade unionists demand that the average raise amount to PLN 1,200. PLN gross per employee.

Tension around the talks had already been rising. On Wednesday, union representatives established an inter-union protest and strike committee and decided not to leave the plant’s headquarters. This shows that salary negotiations at ZUS have entered a much more severe phase, and the difference between employee expectations and the employer’s proposal remains very large.

Wage negotiations at ZUS with the ministry’s support for the management board’s proposals

The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy also commented on the matter. Deputy Minister Sebastian Gajewski, who was appointed to supervise the Institute, informed that the ministry supports possible changes in the ZUS financial plan. These are modifications needed to implement the raises and bonuses proposed by the management, but only if the trade union accepts this offer.

The ministry also emphasized that it expects the management board to conduct talks effectively and reach an agreement. At the same time, the ministry supported the organization of a meeting of the Problem Team for the budget, remuneration and social benefits of the Social Dialogue Council. This meeting is to be held on April 10 with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance.

Wage negotiations at ZUS will resume on April 9

The company informed that the talks would be resumed on April 9 at the ZUS headquarters. During Friday’s negotiations, the member of the management board responsible for IT answered questions from the public regarding the presentation in this area. The Management Board also provided the unions with information on key trends showing the burden of tasks in the institution’s statutory activities.

Despite the ongoing dispute, the Plant assures that customer service in the branches is ongoing and work is carried out without disruptions. For now, however, there is no agreement salary negotiations at ZUS remain suspended. Everything indicates that the coming days will be crucial for the further course of talks on pay rises.
