Zakopane

The capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains was chosen as the second best destination in Europe. She defeated her rivals in Croatia and Austria.

Zakopane is showing itself more and more boldly in Europe. According to the latest Congress Magazine ranking, the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains is the second best destination in Europe in the “Meeting Star” category. The Polish resort defeated, among others, the town of Bohinj and the resort of Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, Zell am See in Austria or Mali Lošinj on the island of Lošinj in Croatia. Only one place was higher than the Polish candidate.

Zakopane appreciated in Europe

Zakopane is not only a gateway to discovering Tatra trails. The most important mountain resort in Poland is becoming an increasingly important destination for business tourism. As Congress Magazine writes, Zakopane is a well-known destination for small meetings and incentive trips with outdoor attractions and authentic local experiences. The event industry magazine placed the Polish resort second in the ranking in the “Meeting Star” category for small towns, just behind Kitzbühel and ahead of Zell am See (both cities located in Austria).

Kitzbühel is located in western Austria, in the state of Tyrol, and is considered Austria’s most famous ski resort. There are as many as 230 ski lifts around the town, and on the Hahnenkamm slope there is the most difficult alpine skiing route in the world. During the winter season, visitors to competitions can take advantage of an exceptionally rich sports offer. You can get here from Vienna by changing in nearby Wörgl, where regional trains operate.

Krakow won against Venice and Porto

Krakow was also included in the same ranking. The capital of Małopolska, home to, among others, ICE Kraków and EXPO Kraków completely dominate the category of cities where up to 2,000 congress meetings can be organized. Behind him on the next steps of the podium were Ljubljana and Porto. The top ten included, among others: also Tallinn (4th place), Venice (6th place), Vilnius (7th place) and Bratislava. (9th place)
