Young agriculture experts competed in Łomża. Final of the National Agricultural Knowledge Olympiad at MANS
The International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża hosted the final of the National Agricultural Knowledge Olympiad. The event, which took place at the university’s headquarters, was attended by 111 best participants from all over Poland, selected in earlier school and district stages. The finalists also included 16 primary school students.
Young agriculture enthusiasts from many regions of the country came to Łomża, including: from Silesia, Greater Poland, Masovia, Pomerania, Szczecin and north-western Poland. Such a wide representation of schools confirmed the nationwide character of the Olympiad and the great interest of young people in the subject of modern agriculture, agribusiness, mechanization and technologies used on modern farms.

This year’s final was at a very high substantive level. Participants had to demonstrate knowledge of agriculture, breeding, veterinary medicine, mechanization, agribusiness and modern solutions used in the agri-food sector. The competition was even, and podium places were decided by single points.
He was the winner of the National Agricultural Knowledge Olympiad Jakub Rode from the Agro-Economic School Complex. Bronisław Zamojdzin in Karolewo, who scored 72 points. As emphasized during the event, the winner is a passionate young farmer, so the prizes won will be able to find practical application in developing his interests and future professional career.
They took second place ex aequo Mikołaj Łabiński from the Agricultural School Complex in Grzybno and Marek Fułek from the School Complex. Stanisław Mikołajczyk in Opatówek. Both finalists scored 70 points.
The best finalists also included: Antoni Kosiński from the 1st Secondary School named after Tadeusz Kościuszko in Łomża, Mateusz Winczewski from the School Complex of the Agricultural Education Center in Gołądków, Jakub Słota from the School Complex of the Agricultural Education Center. 1000th anniversary of the Polish State in Nakło Śląskie, Bartosz Nowakowski from the Complex of Agricultural Schools Center for Continuing Education named after Kuyavian Land in Przemystka, Żaneta Kaczmarek from the School Complex of the Agricultural Education Center in Marszewo, Kacper Gadomski from the School Complex of the Agricultural Education Center. Dobrzyń Land in Naddroże and Jan Brodziak from the School Complex. Stanisław Mikołajczyk in Opatówek.
Participants competed for prizes with a total value exceeding PLN 30,000. These included a gift voucher worth PLN 10,000 for an electronics store and navigation for agricultural machinery from AllyNav worth PLN 20,000, funded by the strategic sponsor – Eurofarmer. The finalists also received numerous prizes, including professional tools and equipment useful in agricultural work.
The National Agricultural Knowledge Olympiad is an important forum for educational competition, but also a place for developing the passion and competences of young people interested in agriculture. Its aim is not only to test the knowledge of participants, but also to inspire them for further educational and professional development.
The Olympiad is addressed primarily to secondary school students studying or interested in agriculture, agribusiness and professions related to the agri-food sector. The event can also be attended by particularly recommended primary school students who want to develop their interests in modern management.
The substantive scope of the competition includes issues consistent with the core curriculum for education in professions such as farmers, agricultural technicians, beekeepers technicians, horse breeding technicians, agricultural mechanization and agrotronics technicians, agribusiness technicians, mechanics and operators of agricultural vehicles and machines, and veterinary technicians.
The organization of the final was financed by the Ministry of Education. Thanks to this, it was possible to prepare the event at a high organizational level, provide participants with professional competition conditions and provide attractive prizes.
The final in Łomża showed that agricultural education in Poland has great potential, and young people are willing to engage in the topic of modern agriculture. For many participants, participation in the Olympics may be an important step on the way to further education, work in the agricultural sector, running their own farm or developing agribusiness.
