You’ll think it’s Italy, but it’s Poland. A unique lake for summer relaxation
The season for relaxation on Polish lakes is slowly starting. We would like to remind you about one of the charming places worth visiting.
In the heart of Małopolska you will find a reservoir so beautiful that for some people its climate resembles Italy. This is not the only foreign accent that tourists notice in the mentioned voivodeship, as we have already written about, among others, about Krakow compared to Spanish Barcelona. A Polish lake like in Italy
When we think about Italian lakes, we often think of Como or Garda. They are surrounded by mountains, lush nature and islands. You can count on similar attractions on the Polish Rożnowskie Lake among the hills of the Rożnowskie Foothills. It is characterized by a picturesque coastline and attracts with many attractions.
The most interesting points in the vicinity of the Lesser Poland reservoir include: the Mill Settlement in Roztoka-Brzeziny – one of the largest cultural and historical gems of the region, historic temples, e.g. the Romanesque church of Saints Świerad and Benedict from the 12th century in Tropie or the Tropsztyn Castle in Wytrzyszczka, the Castle in Czchów and two other castles in Rożnów.
The landscapes by the lake can be admired from observation towers – the one on Szpilówka nad Iwkowa is considered unique. The tour can be enriched with a visit to local vineyards, e.g. Winnica Gródek in Zbyszyce.
At Lake Rożnowskie. It’s worth relaxing here
You can come to Lake Rożnowskie for just one day to focus mainly on sunbathing or discovering nature. It pays off, among other things: residents of Krynica-Zdrój, who can get there in an hour, or other smaller towns, e.g. Nowy Sącz. It is also worth staying longer and treating the selected location by the reservoir as a base for visiting the mentioned attractions.
The most beautifully situated towns on the lake include the areas around Tabaszowa, Sienna, Zbyszyce, Bartkowa, Gródek nad Dunajcem, Znamirowice and Rożnów. There they wait, among others: beaches, holiday homes, a dam and water equipment rentals. The reservoir ensures safe bathing, especially in specially designated places.
