You won’t believe that in this mountain village, a glass house was built between wooden huts. And everything fits together!

Alpejski chalet w nowoczesnym wydaniu, projekt PPAG architects

It is more than a restaurant, hotel and place of relaxation. Designed in the heart of the Alps, the facility is proof that luxury and ecology can go hand in hand, and that investing in the mountains does not have to destroy nature.

In the heart of the Austrian Alps, at an altitude of 1,059 m above sea level, a project was created that changes the approach to ecology and modern gastronomy – “Steirereck am Pogusch”. This branch of the famous Viennese restaurant “Steirereck” is not only a place for connoisseurs of exquisite dishes, but also an example of how to harmonize architecture, nature and technology.

A village in the mountains – a combination of tradition and modernity

Designed by architects from PPAG architects, the complex resembles a village where historical buildings – stone barns and wooden cottages – are complemented by modern facilities that blend harmoniously into the landscape. Additional spaces, such as the dining room and kitchen with a bar and grill, fit perfectly into this concept.

Ecological perfection – a step towards a sustainable future

Renewable energy sources are used for heating, cooling and electricity production, minimizing the use of resources. Interesting solutions designed with the planet in mind also include:

  • On-site food productionwhich reduces the need for transport and CO₂ emissions.
  • Circular economyincluding composting and selection of building materials with a low carbon footprint.
  • Sustainable mobilityreducing energy consumption related to the transportation of guests and employees.

Design and functionality – a mountain chalet with a modern twist

PPAG architects also created the interiors. Particularly noteworthy is the large glass house – a hybrid of a modern greenhouse and living space. Inside there are bedrooms, a sauna, a fireplace and a wellness area. There are also original furniture and details. Thanks to large glazing and properly designed space, the interiors seem more spacious and open.
