You will return from the beach with money. Poles will like the new idea

Bottle dispensers will appear near the beaches on the Baltic Sea. This solution will allow for quick recovery of the deposit and will reduce garbage on the coast.

The deposit system introduced in Poland on October 1, 2025 is entering the next phase of operation. The first holidays are approaching, during which this solution will be tested in practice in tourist destinations. This is where the system is intended to work in conditions of increased traffic and, consequently, greater amounts of waste. Will bottle dispensers change the appearance of Baltic Sea beaches? As Spidersweb.pl writes, the PolKa operator – Polska Kaucja wants their new devices to be placed as close to popular swimming areas as possible.

Bottle dispensers on the beaches of the Baltic Sea

This year, camping on the beaches of the Baltic Sea will not end with a mountain of garbage. At least this is what bottle dispenser operators are counting on, as they intend to place their devices also outside the areas of local and large-format stores. The devices will also be located close to people and swimming areas, so that after a long day, vacationers can easily recover deposits for purchased drinks. “The deposit system in Poland needs greater accessibility. That’s why we are investing in building a universal network of Zwrotomat points,” says Magdalena Markiewicz, president of the management board of PolKa – Polska Kaucja, quoted by Spidersweb.pl. The first machines at the seaside can be expected, among others: in Mielno, Gąski and Sarbinowo.

Money directly to the card

Instead of a refund in the form of a voucher, the equivalent of which must then be withdrawn or redeemed in the store, Poles using Refund Machines will receive the funds directly to the card. “This solution already works in Ikea stores,” we read. So there is no valid excuse to leave the bottle on the beach (although in this case there would certainly be people who would decide to take it on our behalf to earn extra money).

According to a survey by SW Research for “Wprost”, garbage is what irritates Poles the most on beaches in Poland. The next places were taken by people drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes, as well as the famous screens.
