You will have to pay. Two well -known lines change places about places

Air France i KLM

They were for free, and now you will have to pay for them. Two well -known airlines change the rules of places on the aircraft.

The choice of a more expensive airline has so far been associated with privileges rather than responsibilities. Passengers received a free meal and could constantly use the on -board entertainment system. Unfortunately, for several years, even traditional carriers have been looking for savings to be able to compete with cheap airlines. Airlines reduce expenses, for example, by limiting the allowed luggage. They also often decide to introduce additional paid services. Two well -known European airlines will go this way this month. At KLM and Air France, booking a free space in the Economy Light class will not be possible soon.

The end of free places in KLM and Air France

French and Dutch airlines give up the privilege for travelers, which was the ability to choose a free place. From now on, the clients of both carriers for assigning a seating, for example, under the window, will have to pay additional. The new rules will apply only in Economy Light. So if we buy tickets in a regular economy class or a more expensive business flight, we will still be able to choose our favorite seat.

In the case of Air France, the new rules will apply from February 11, 2025, and in KLM a paid selection of places during booking will appear in the booking system just over a week later, February 20. In both lines, the changes apply only to the cheapest class tickets. It is not known, however, what will ultimately be the price of this service and whether it will vary depending on the comfort of the seating.

You can sit near the fellow passenger

Interestingly, the restrictions were imposed not only on flights in Europe, but also traveling overseas. Spending a long flight away from our companion may seem to many tourists too much. The carriers themselves think similarly, who, although they will remain when charging for the selection of space in the cheapest tariffs, will not separate people traveling together and larger groups.
