You can see Venezuela from this sunny island. One attraction is best avoided here

Tourists are attracted by beautiful beaches and positive temperatures all year round. This paradise corner of the world also has an attraction that I don’t want to brag about.
Polish tourists are increasingly willing to explore exotic destinations. Of great interest are, among others, Dominican Republic, directly accessible via charters.
Among the countries in the Caribbean, there are also less known ones than Barbados and Barbados. Due to its location (barely 25 km from the northern coast of Venezuela), this island is the most popular among Americans and Canadians, but it is also available from travel agencies in Poland.
Aruba. Over 20 degrees all year round
Aruba is a volcanic island and an overseas territory of the Netherlands with its capital in Oranjestad. At the end of the 15th century it was discovered by Spanish sailors, and in the 17th century it became part of the Netherlands Antilles.
Tourism is an important sector of the local economy, and foreign guests come to the island tempted by postcard-perfect views and a favorable equatorial climate. There is holiday weather here all year round – thermometers show above 25 degrees Celsius, although there is a rainy season from October to December. Then the number of days with precipitation is over 15, but it is still warm. The island also prides itself on being safe because it lies far outside the hurricane belt. On clear days, lucky people will be able to see Venezuela from it.
Flamingos as tourist bait
The widest beach in Aruba is Eagle Beach, which regularly appears in lists of the most beautiful in the world. White sand, clean water and the surroundings of fofoti trees create ideal conditions for relaxation.
However, tourists who are drawn here by the desire to meet or take a photo with a flamingo must be vigilant. Photos found online may give the false impression that these beautiful birds live in their natural environment, on a beach that is not very popular. It’s actually a beach on a private island. Only people who book a room at the Renaissance Hotel or buy an admission ticket have access to it.
From the blog Zakrętona Podróżniczka we learn that flamingos came to Aruba from Chile and their flight feathers were clipped so that they remain a local attraction. Feeding birds just to take a beautiful photo for Instagram is ethically very questionable. That’s why the local tourist organization is silent about this place.
Naturalists, however, made an effort to recreate the population of other birds, parrots, in Aruba. They remind you to treat them with caution, observe them from a distance and do not feed them.
How much do flights from Poland to this island cost?
Exoticism in this part of the world has its price. We will pay about twice as much for a week-long holiday on the island as for an all-inclusive stay in a luxury hotel in Turkey.
If we go to Aruba in March, we will spend from PLN 11,300 per person (stay with breakfast) for a week’s holiday. Cheaper options can be found in October. For connecting flights and a week’s stay in a three-star hotel, you need to book over PLN 8,000. PLN per person.
You can also organize your holiday on your own. When flying to Aruba from several Polish cities (including Warsaw and Krakow), you can find flights to this island for around PLN 2.1-2.3 thousand one way. It will also be easier to plan your trip thanks to the additional KLM connection from Poznań to Amsterdam, which starts in March. One transfer and we are almost to the paradise beach. It is better to follow the trail of flamingos to Spain and Cyprus.
