You can no longer buy these products at Poczta Polska. "The end of bazaars"

Poczta Polska is changing its offer: branches will give up part of their product range in order to focus on postal services and improving profitability.

Poczta Polska is introducing significant changes to its offer, gradually reducing the range of products available at its branches. The company’s president, Sebastian Mikosz, announced that post offices will no longer resemble local bazaars, where you could find socks or pots next to envelopes. This type of product range will be gradually removed, and the offer will be adapted to the needs of customers and the characteristics of individual locations.

Polish Post reduces its product range

“It cannot be that when we enter the post office we see a bazaar where shoe polish lies between pots and wallets. We will definitely change this gradually,” said the president of Poczta Polska, Sebastian Mikosz.

Sebastian Mikosz, in an interview with PAP, explained that the transformation is necessary for Poczta Polska to not only remain on the market, but also improve its financial stability. The changes will be introduced gradually, taking into account the differences between offices in large cities and those in smaller towns. In small towns, where access to a wide range of products is limited, some products will still be available, while in large agglomerations the offer will be more focused on traditional postal services.

The president emphasized that retail sales are profitable, especially outside large cities, where Poczta Polska plays an important role in access to various products. However, in order to avoid a situation in which post offices resemble shops with devotional items, it is necessary to standardize and modernize the assortment. Products such as towels, socks, or toys will disappear from the offer, especially in large cities, where customers have access to these items in other places.

Currently, Poczta Polska manages over 7.6 thousand branches, branches and agencies throughout the country. The recovery plan assumes unifying their appearance, which aims to create a modern, European post office that will be more customer-friendly and profitable. Mikosz noted that despite the changes, the Poczta logo will remain unchanged.

The budget for 2025-2027 is to provide an answer to the question of when Poczta Polska will become profitable again. The president does not hide the fact that the company will end the coming years with a loss, but the goal is to achieve profitability at the end of the transformation plan.

Transformation of the Polish Post Office

On Wednesday, the transformation plan for Poczta Polska was announced. It is to be carried out in several stages. The first of them, called Poczta 1.0, assumes the introduction of the most urgent changes. They will be implemented this year and will include, among others, the IT area, improving the quality of postal services, and optimizing employment.

The implementation of the transformation plan of Poczta Polska will begin this year. This issue came up during today’s press conference of Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
