You bought this at Żabka? You are in danger

Żabka has issued a statement informing customers of a potential hazard associated with one of its products. It has been withdrawn from sale, and customers who have recently purchased it are asked to return or dispose of the potentially dangerous product.

Every now and then, there are announcements that a given retail chain has decided to withdraw a product from sale due to the potential danger associated with its use or consumption. This time, such a message was issued by Żabka. One batch of lemonade may contain pieces of glass, so it is worth checking the fridge to see if you bought this particular product during a recent visit to the local store.

Which lemonade are you talking about?

“Due to the possibility of the presence of glass fragments in the product: 12019637 LEMONIADA PISZONE POM I MANG DK 330ML MW., marked with the expiration date of 24/01/2025, we are obliged to withdraw the above-mentioned batch of goods from sale,” Żabka informed in a special statement.

What to do if we have already purchased?

First and foremost, they appealed not to consume it. The product can be returned to the store or thrown away, of course in accordance with the applicable waste management rules.

“The product may be hazardous to the health of the Consumer. The return should be made to the Żabka store where the purchase was made, and you will receive a refund for the returned product in the amount of the purchase price. We apologize for any inconvenience that may result from this situation,” the statement explained.

What to do if we have already consumed it?

You should monitor your health. Possible disturbing symptoms of swallowing glass include:

a) pain in the throat, chest or abdomen
b) difficulty swallowing
c) bleeding from the mouth or digestive tract (e.g. vomiting with blood)
d) sudden, sharp abdominal pain.

Even if you don’t have symptoms, talk to your doctor, describe the situation, and ask about the next steps. If necessary, your doctor may recommend tests (e.g., X-ray or CT scan) to check for foreign bodies in your digestive tract.
