The division of goalkeeper’s duties in Barcelona was described in more detail by Radio RAC1 journalist Alex Pintanel.

“The roles are clearly defined. Joan Garcia will be a basic goalkeeper, and Wojciech Szczęsny is his substitute and he will be playing only in the King’s Cup (…) The Pole has experience with a rich career and Barca, this is his advantage. Maybe I wouldn’t say that he is his teacher, but he will help him” – admitted a journalist in an interview for “Przegląd Sportowy” and Onet.

Szczęsny and Lewandowski during the 2024/25 season created a Polish duo in the ranks of the Duma of Catalonia. The goalkeeper appeared in Barcelona because of the injury, which was suffered by the then team’s first goalkeeper-Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Ultimately, the German even after recovering, he did not jump in the hierarchy of Szczęsny. The Pole in the decisive part of the past campaign was a “one” between Barca’s posts.
