It seemed that in the case of Wojciech Szczęsny, his presence in the ranks of FC Barcelona, ​​it was more needed than something longer. This was how it was possible to conclude both after the Pole hung up, which he went to after the 2023/24 season, and the situation of the Catalan giant.

FC Barcelona downloaded the Polish goalkeeper with a view to patching a breach that appeared in the face of a serious injury to the current “one”. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen exactly on September 22, 2024 suffered a break of cruciate ligaments.

Shortly afterwards, Szczęsny landed in the capital of Catalonia, who after a not very pleasant (gentle term) parting with Juventus, took a break with football. Barcelona’s primary goalkeeper after the arrival of the second Poles in the Barca composition was Inaki Pena. The Spaniard was doing very solidly, smoothly changing his role from the forever reserve, to … finally the basic one.

Coach Hansi Flick kept in the reserves of Szczęsny by the end of 2024, giving the Pole a chance in the initial phase of the King’s Cup. It turned out that it was the beginning of something great. The Pole turned out to be a real talisman of Barcelona. At the moment (as of March 3, 2025) Szczęsny played in the 13th official matches and the Catalan team did not lose one of these matches.

What’s more, Pena is again “welded” to the bench. Instead, he quickly returned to the ball training with rehabilitation after a serious trauma Ter Stegen. It is not, however, that all observers miss Germany. On the contrary, Szczęsny gave a lot of certainty and peace in the young team of coach Flicka.

As if that was not enough, the Pole also changed his mind to his future. It seemed that Barca Szczęsny reached the season, and now it seems that this story may have several more chapters.
