Wizz Air suddenly changed the dates of its holiday flights. “You better check your reservations.”
Wizz Air customers report disturbing signals. It’s about flight reservations, or rather sudden changes introduced by the carrier.
Have you bought a plane ticket for a specific date and do you think that everything will remain the same? Many Wizz Air passengers had this belief, but recently some of them were very surprised. The carrier allegedly changed their travel dates without notice. The situation also happened to Kajetan Pilachowski, known on the Internet, among others. as @kajetano.
Changes to Wizz Air flight bookings
We hear about an unpleasant incident at a low-cost Hungarian airline on TikTok. @kajetaneo in a video published on July 26 informs that “Wizz Air has been going crazy lately and automatically changes passenger reservations without any information.” The case sounds like a real nightmare, especially since the incidents occur during the holidays. Many people are impatient with their holidays and have carefully organized trips and accommodation.
Kajetan explains that he himself became a “victim” of a sudden change in the booking date and assures that he found out about it by accident when he was checking the flight information. He managed to save the journey from Gdańsk to Gothenburg thanks to the fact that he contacted the Wizz Air hotline in time. Ultimately, the staff changed his flight to a date that suited him. However, not everyone was as lucky.
Tourists report strange situations
The worst situations were when Wizz Air changed passenger flight dates without any notice. In extreme cases, some people were told, for example, that they were arriving in Porto at 6:55 p.m., and on the same day at 7:30 p.m. they were to fly back to Poland.
“If you have purchased tickets for a flight with Wizz Air, you better check your reservations,” warns @kajetaneo. The matter was also publicized by the website fly4free.pl. Other injured Poles were to contact journalists. Everyone complained about shortened trips and lack of information about sudden changes in reservations.
It is certain that in the event of a sudden change in the schedule, passengers should have the opportunity to accept the change or cancel. Meanwhile, in this case, some people allegedly received vague requests to accept the new schedule.
For example, one customer only saw information in the application about a flight change and a button under it: “OK”. A click was supposed to be enough for the change to be accepted. “I did not receive any e-mail and there was no form of contact with the possibility of changing it to some normal hours or days,” the injured party complained in an interview with fly4free.pl.
We contacted Wizz Air asking for clarification. The key is whether there was a systemic error or deliberate actions of the carrier.
