Wizz Air sets another record. Passengers will spend 7 hours on the plane

The popular airline has announced another record-breaking route in a short space of time. This time, we’ll fly to the mysterious and modern Jeddah.

Wizz Air is not holding back and is once again announcing a historic route. The popular carrier, which recently announced the launch of a Milan-Abu Dhabi route, has just announced the premiere of another record-breaking flight. Next year, the recently purchased Airbus A321XLR aircraft, specialized in long-haul flights, will depart from London to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

Wizz Air’s record-breaking flights

In recent months, Wizz Air has focused primarily on developing its fleet of long-haul aircraft. Thanks to the new aircraft, the low-cost carrier will potentially be able to fly from Europe to previously inaccessible destinations, such as India or even Vietnam. For now, the newly purchased Airbuses will supplement the network of connections from the Old Continent to the Middle East. According to the carrier’s announced plans, the first 7-hour flights will take place to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The new London Gatwick to Jeddah service beats the recently announced Milan Malpensa to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi by one kilometre. The distance between the British capital and the Arab metropolis is 4,715 kilometres (2,929 miles) as the crow flies. The return flight to London is expected to take up to seven hours.

Mysterious city on the Red Sea

The new connection is scheduled to launch on March 31, 2025. According to the Simpleflying.com airline service, Wizz Air flights from London to Jeddah will operate daily. The new route will primarily interest the Muslim community. Jeddah is located at the gates of the holy city of Islam, Mecca – a city that is the main pilgrimage destination for Muslims from all over the world every year. Tourists will find unique architecture in Jeddah. In the city located on the Red Sea, you can see both modern skyscrapers and traditional buildings. Travelers from abroad will especially like the historic part of the city, Al-Balad, or the world’s largest Fahda Fountain.
