Wizz Air and LOT cancel flights from Poland. Up to 100 fewer calls per month
Wizz Air will significantly reduce the number of connections on the route from Poland to Trondheim. Cuts can also be seen in LOT’s winter timetable on other routes.
There have been recent major changes in the winter schedules of airlines operating in Poland. Changes in the flight network await Wizz Air passengers. Fly4free.pl informs that the Hungarian carrier will soon limit flights on the year-round route from Gdańsk to Trondheim.
Very few flights to Trondheim. They come back in spring
In winter, passengers will fly there only during the Christmas and New Year period (6 rotations, from December 20 to January 10). Apparently the route has more potential in the summer season. From the end of March to the end of June 6, 2027, Wizz Air intends to fly this route every day, and then it will return to 4 flights a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays).
The portal also informs about cuts on the route to Spain – from the end of October, low-cost airlines will reduce the number of flights from Warsaw to Seville from the planned 4 to 2 connections a week. Flights on Mondays and Wednesdays will be canceled.
Earlier, Wizz Air decided to suspend connections to Genoa, Italy, for the winter. The last connections on this route (from Warsaw and Krakow) will be made on October 24, and its future is questionable. The booking system does not show flights during the summer season. Hungarian airlines are the only ones offering a direct connection from Poland to this city in northern Italy.
Cuts to the PLLT schedule. Not only the Balkans
PLL LOT passengers will also face cuts. The airlines have decided that at the end of the summer season they will limit flights to several countries in the Balkans. On October 24, flights from Warsaw to Podgorica, Sarajevo and Skopje will be suspended.
The winter schedule will be reduced by up to 100 flights per month. The cuts were introduced on routes to Athens, Belgrade, Bologna and Zagreb. In the case of the Greek capital, the frequency of flights will be reduced to five or six flights a week, but from December 21 to January 10, flights will be operated daily.
Passengers will also wait longer for the return of direct flights from Warsaw to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The decision to suspend the connection is dictated by security reasons.
