Will the tourist voucher come back? Clear declaration of the minister

We considered this type of solution, they are not ready to introduce for now – said Marcin Kierwiński in RMF FM for the flood, referring to the possibility of introducing a tourist voucher in flood -affected areas.
At the end of January, the media reported that the government was thinking about reactivating a tourist voucher. It would start this spring-summer season, but only cover regions affected in September last year. The voucher would support local entrepreneurs and attract tourists.
There will be no tourist voucher yet?
This thread appeared in today’s interview, which RMF FM was given by Marcin Kierwiński, minister for reconstruction after the flood. It is clear from the minister’s statements that there will be no tourist voucher for now. – We considered this type of solution, they are not ready to introduce for now. We decided to directly support entrepreneurs (…) At this stage, I cannot say that such a voucher will be created – Kierwiński said in the morning conversation RMF FM.
Let us remind you that the tourist voucher was introduced in August 2020 by the PiS government. It was in force until the end of March 2023. The benefit in the amount of PLN 500 (in the form of a voucher) was to support families (its beneficiaries were people charging 500 plus), as well as for the victim as a result of pandemic restrictions on the tourism industry (the voucher could be allocated to trips or accommodation only in Poland).
Poles divided on reactivation
According to the data presented by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), over 5.5 million transactions were carried out throughout the entire period of the tourist voucher for a total of nearly PLN 3.2 billion. There were about 4.5 million people grown to use the voucher.
The SW Research survey conducted in May last year for “Wprost” shows that 45.7 percent of Poles would like to reactivate a tourist voucher. Not much less, because 40.3 percent, however, are of the opposite opinion, and 14 percent of respondents had no opinion in this matter.
