Krakow does not complain about the lack of tourists. They often walk around the city with suitcases, and this is less and less like the inhabitants. The noise caused by travelers may be limited.
Tourist traffic in Krakow has been doing well for years. The city is teeming with life regardless of whether it is summer or winter. In one time of year we use the sun or seasonal outdoor attractions, in the other we visit, among others The famous Christmas market. The residents of the center have long been a loud suitcase of tourists who are heading towards the station or beds. There is an appeal to deal with them.
Suitcases make life difficult in Krakow
Travel suitcases are at a premium, thanks to them it is easy to transport your things from place to place. They also have their disadvantages, and one of them is noise -hunts. They became the problem in Krakow. The city authorities notice more and more frequent complaints from residents and want to start acting. “We want to listen to what is most important for residents. One of the biggest problems is noise.” – commented Grzegorz Soszyński, president of the Tourist Organization Association of the Capital City of Krakow.
He added that measuring devices were bought last year, which create a kind of noise map in the city. In addition, the so -called Silence tires that tourists apply their suitcases to the wheels. If city workers notice a group of tourists in Krakow pulling suitcases, e.g. on the market, they give them rubber tires that they should use. Such action, although small, is to help and let me know that the problem is noticed.
“It may have a symbolic meaning, but it somehow reduces the level of noise,” said Grzegorz Soszyński.

To make tourists realize how troublesome their suitcases are, a special video in social media was placed. On them you can see how at night a group of young people head towards their hotel. In the background you can hear not only the knocking of suitcases, but also conversations.
The situation took place in the Old Town in Krakow, and the video was published on the Facebook page of the historic center. “Hotel crawling the end of 100 people at Łobzowska Street in Krakow, today at 1:15 at night. Maybe it’s time, like Vienna, to think about the program of the city replacement of windows for soundproof?” – the authors of the post asked.
It is worth noting that due to noisy suitcases, the movement with their participation has already been limited, among others tourists in Venice, as well as other European cities. Be careful, among others in Dubrovnik. In this historic town of suitcases on wheels, you cannot lead around the Old Town.
