There is no way that Poland will build roads in Ukraine with its own money, budget money or any other roads acquired by Poland, said Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak on Radio Zet.

The Minister of Infrastructure was a guest of Radio Zet on Tuesday. Dariusz Klimczak expressed hope that Polish companies will receive contracts for the reconstruction of Ukraine. – I hope they will get and earn well on these contracts. I hope so – said the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure in the program “Guest of Radio Zet”.

Will Poland spend money on building a highway to Lviv? The minister’s position is clear

The conversation brought up the topic of our country’s involvement in the reconstruction of roads in Ukraine. There was information that Poland would finance the construction of an approximately 80 km section of the highway to Lviv and in return collect tolls.

I don’t know anything about the construction of any road for Polish money, from the state budget, including the one to Lviv. The Ministry of Infrastructure does not deal with this matter, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways builds roads only in Poland – said the Minister of Infrastructure.

If there is an announcement of a tender, there is money in the Ukrainian budget or from an international fund on the basis of which Polish companies could start and earn money on this contract, it is a matter of decision of Polish companies. However, there is no way that Poland will build roads in Ukraine with its own money, budget money or any other roads acquired by Poland – he added.

When asked where the information about this came from, Klimczak replied that there is various “fake” information and this may be one of them because it causes tension between Poland and Ukraine. – I heard about an idea that would say that Polish companies could take part in contracts for the reconstruction of Ukraine before the war ends, but there was never any question that we would build this type of roads with our own funds. – summed up the Radio Zet guest.
